Welcome to the November 2008 Edition of Patriot Music News!

Matt Fitzgibbons

Since I began PatriotMusic in 2003, my mission has been "to celebrate America's Founding Principles and the men and women who defend them". Staying out of partisan politics is essential to delivering my unifying message of trying to inspire people to spend the few minutes it takes to read (at least) the Declaration of Independence and the Bill of Rights. This election year, the United States have seen more divisiveness since perhaps our Civil War, and it only promises to get worse. Today, Congress' approval rating is at 9%, the lowest in our Nation's history. The President's is at 24%, and the recent Federal bailouts of Wall Street amount to $108 trillion. Everyone is talking about a recession and perhaps even a world-wide depression. Things don't look good.

On the other hand, history shows us that the United States are extremely resilient. After 9-11 we saw a unity that many thought was not possible. What made this nation great are the simple, but timeless notions enshrined in our two greatest documents: The Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution. The message that I have been trying to spread is that these principles should not be only footnotes in history books, but are the solutions to our present and future problems. The only thing we need is for the people of this Republic to learn or relearn these principles, teach them to the younger generations, and demand that our Government obey them.

Congratulations to our new President-elect, Barack Hussein Obama and all those who won, or kept seats in Congress. Will they honor their oaths to
"preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States"? Only time will tell, and only We The People can make them.

On Thursday, April 30th, 1789, four months after being elected the first President of the United States, General George Washington took the oath of office in Federal Hall in New York City. Wall Street was described as being filled to capacity with observers celebrating this solemn occasion. The words he spoke were those prescribed in the Constitution Article II., Section 1. Clause 8.

"I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."

He then placed his hand on the Bible, bowed to kiss it, closed his eyes and said, "I swear!", adding "So help me God!"

"Government is not reason; it is not eloquent; it is force. Like fire, it is a dangerous servant and a fearful master."

I'll be releasing a new CD (as of yet untitled) perhaps as early as the spring of 2009!
I'm honored to be working with my new friend and world-class guitarist Rich Roger. If you're a fan of incredible guitar-oriented rock, you'll want to check this patriot's website, CDs, and many accomplishments.

11-08 I am honored to receive another ASCAPlus Award for Patriot 2: "A Celebration of Liberty"
(ASCAP is United States' largest and oldest of the three Performing Arts Societies.)

The Exchange Club of Danbury held their annual Veterans Program on November 6th.
I was honored to play "Remember the Americans" for their event.

I'll be spreading the word about our Founding Principles in Phoenix, AZ in early December.
If you happen to be going to the Crossroads of the West Gunshow at the Phoenix, AZ Fair Grounds, (the largest gun show west of the Mississippi) look for me from December 4th to December 7th! You'll see a giant poster of Patriot 2: "A Celebration of Liberty". I'll be right next to my friend Joey Venters of King Armory, Mfg., LLC.

During recording, no one, including myself, could remember the real name of my song Private and Free on Patriot 2: A Celebration of Liberty" . We always simply referred to it as "The Devil Song".

For all those who have purchased CDs for friends and family, or spread the word about the PatriotMusic.com project, thank you for your support!
